It is your responsibility to take care of your health. No one else is going to do it; so don’t expect them to. Whether you just ran the Boston Marathon and only need a gentle reminder or you haven’t moved off the couch or eaten a green bean in years, let’s go through this principle together. When I was in the planning stages of this program, I struggled with including a section on physical health. There are many people out there who ignore health and instead, are focusing on so many less important things. Just taking a look at the state of many people today would tell you that we, as a society, do not place enough importance on health and physical well-being. I finally decided to include this principle because I believe that the state of your overall life is absolutely dependent on your physical health.
Your physical health tells a great deal about you. If you are unhealthy and out of shape, you will not have the strength, energy, stamina or even the confidence to do all that is necessary to make your life what it is meant to be. If you are not taking care of yourself, then at some level, you probably do not think very highly of yourself. If this is the case, just continue practicing the principles in this program and you will be able to have positive changes in all areas of your life, including your health.
