Create A Health Plan

I thought about supplying sample exercise plans and sample diets in this article, but I decided against it.  At first, I thought that if I supplied the plans, then more people would follow through.  As I thought about it further, I realized that if somebody were going to follow through, they would be willing to do the work.  I believe that if it is important enough to you and I gave you the facts, you would do the research and figure out exactly what you need to do.  I did not want to influence your health needs with what I do.  You need to figure out what will work best for you.

Keep it simple and remember: “To ensure good health: eat lightly, breathe deeply, live moderately, cultivate cheerfulness, and maintain an interest in life.”xciv   Find people who are getting the results you want and talk to them.  If you want to lose weight, find someone who has already lost weight.  If learning a martial art is an objective of yours; find someone who is a black belt.  Talk to friends, family or coworkers but always make sure the advice you choose to use makes sense.  As you continue to learn about your health, the plan may change, but start now to develop a plan that works.  As you gain knowledge about keeping yourself physically healthy, you can develop a comprehensive plan.  For now

, I will keep it very basic to help you get started.  If you are already experienced in the areas of diet and exercise, then this may be a great time for you to review what you are currently doing and make the necessary adjustments you have been avoiding.

For your exercise program, map out what types of exercise you will do for each day of the week.  Remember to take 1 or 2 days off for yourself to recover.  Formulate a plan for exercise success.  Remember to balance your activity between strength, cardio, flexibility and agility training.

For your diet, figure out what types of food you will be eating.  Start by examining what you eat over any 24-hour period.  Figure out what has been harming you and what has been beneficial by reviewing the “Twelve Tips for Eating Right”.  Do some research, if you have to.  It will be well worth your time.

God Bless
