Physical Activity

Plato definitely had it right when he said that, “lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save and preserve it.”lxxxiii

Physical activity is just what it implies…MOVE!  Move often!  We live in a world where it is easy to avoid too much physical activity, if that is what you choose to do.  If it weren’t for the occasional broken elevator, few people would ever take the stairs.  If it weren’t for the fact that the TV and the refrigerator were so far apart, then many people would never get off the couch.  Our bodies were made for movement.  Many people don’t understand that the simple reason they are always feeling tired is because they just don’t get enough activity.  If they would only get their body moving, they would feel better instantly.  I will discuss physical activity as it relates to three areas of life.  Those areas are exercise, general movement and play.  They are all important and they all serve a purpose.
