Be Ready

The events of this past year should show us that the future as we know it is not certain. Learn how to be ready for anything.

The High Standards Required of Spiritual Warriors

The standards required of spiritual warriors are much different than the standards of ordinary people. The common practice among Christians today is to drag yourself to church on Sunday morning and then live in turmoil the rest of the week. For the spiritual warrior, though it is different. We know that the chosen life is about much more than going to church for an hour a week and then walking out the door and forgetting about it for another week.

Starting with The Basics

The best place to start on your prepping journey is at the beginning. This may seem like a no-brainer but it’s really not. I meet and speak with so many people who have no idea where to begin. It can be a little bit overwhelming when looking at all that needs to be accomplished in a time frame that remains unknown. A disaster or social upheaval may occur in the next hour, minute, day, week, month, or year ahead. We just don’t know. The one thing that is absolutely certain is that if you do nothing then you will make zero progress.

Time to Start

So you have decided to begin taking steps to provide and protect your family in the event of a disaster… Good choice!

You might be wondering where to begin. I know when I first started working towards this goal myself, I felt overwhelmed. There is a lot to learn, organize and train for. The key though is to begin. It will get easier as you move forward. For now, don’t let yourself become overwhelmed. That is the surest way to fail. This is one area where you don’t want to fail. There are people counting on you.

Benefits of Prepping

It wasn’t too long ago that preppers; those people who we thought were hiding out in some mountain hut were the topic of many jokes. Little did we know, they were right all along.

They weren’t living in the wilderness, surviving on wild berries and earthworms (which are edible if you were wondering). They were our neighbors. They were the people who fixed the leaking pipes in our bathrooms, represented us in court cases, fixed our cars, made our pizzas and prescribed medications when needed. Yes, preppers were everywhere. They still are!

Prepping is Necessary

If you are paying attention, it becomes clear that disasters of different kinds cause havoc in the lives of millions of

people each year around the globe. Many times these people are caught off-guard and unprepared.  These disasters cause physical, emotional, economic and social trauma in the lives of those they touch. Although you can never truly eliminate these effects; you can lessen the trauma caused and soften the blow to you and your loved ones by being prepared.

What’s Your Purpose?

We are taught at an early age that if we try hard enough we can be whatever we want.  I do believe this, to a certain extent, but it misses the point of real success.  Yes, if I spend my life working 14 hours a day, 7 days a week staying on top of all the financial journals and magazines, neglecting my wife and kids, forgoing real opportunities to do good in society and to help others then there is a very real possibility that I can be successful in making some money.  If I did this, though, I would be miserable and so would everyone around me.  I would add no real value to the world.  I would just be a slave to what I think success is.

Be Prepared

Right now, all across our country and world, people are recognizing the signs of change. What this change is going to bring about in the form of societal shifts and government functions is really anyone’s guess. There are people who consider themselves “experts” and these people are telling others exactly what is going to go down; how it’s going to happen and when it’s going to occur. DON’T Listen to these predictions! No one knows the answer to these questions. Anyone who claims to know this information is usually trying to sell you something in the next sentence.

Prepare  Now

In the event of a disaster, you may be on your own for a period of time. I have experienced this more than a few times

in the past several years. There was one time where the streets in my neighborhood were impassable for almost a week. There was no electricity, phone or internet service. The neighborhood was on our own. I’m happy to say that we survived!

God Not Government

If there is anything the past few years has taught me, it is the importance of being prepared.

Since 2018 my family has experienced several blizzards, a micro-burst and other severe weather related events. These situations have caused disruptions in our everyday lives; in many cases for at least a week or more. We have weathered each storm and have learned many lessons. It’s important to learn from each event. What did you do right? What did you do wrong?

The Storms Of Life

Many times life is calm and serene. We go about our days without much worry. These are the days without storms.

Occasionally, a small storm may roll in. It may be expected or it may surprise us. It rattles us but doesn’t cause too much trouble.

Sometimes a large storm hits. It may cause some damage but not enough to alter our life. We may have some trouble but we quickly move on.

Then there are the ferocious storms of life. There is major destruction. The landscape is forever changed. Our perspective changes. Nothing will ever be the same.

Are you prepared?

God Bless
