Thank You Jesus

I was at the gym early this morning and I got to thinking about my friends. It brought me into a place

of gratitude.

I’m not talking about those people that you know casually. I’m talking about those few good, close friends that know you well. They are there with you through anything. They stand shoulder-to-shoulder with challenges you never thought you would face. They celebrate when you experience victory! …

Who Do You Want To Be?

It’s a great question, but so few people have actually thought much about the answer.  It’s easy to avoid this topic, especially if you have been caught up in the world’s version of success.  You have probably been too busy to think this through logically but you can now.

Answer this question now.  Don’t just write: I want to be a good person or a better spouse or a better parent.  Describe your life in detail.  Look at every facet of your life.  Write about your relationships, finances, health, spirituality and any other area of your life that you would like to change or improve.  Why are you doing this?  Because you become what you think about.  The Roman emperor, Marcus Aurelius said, “A man’s life is what his thought makes of it.”

How To Bring Out The Best In Others

As every successful person understands, achieving one’s own objective is simply not enough. Sooner or later, you realize that there is more to life than just achieving your own objectives. One of life’s greatest challenges and most rewarding responsibilities is to continually encourage others to live up to their potential! Regardless of if you are a business leader, friend, parent or spouse, one of the most important obligations you have is to lift others to new levels of success and help them live to their potential. If done properly, this can be made into a winning situation for all involved.

“Self-Help” Programs Don’t Help

I remember when I was really young, probably my early teens, I read an ad in a magazine about being able to do or be anything I wanted.  So, like many other people, I decided to give it a shot.  Guess what?  It didn’t work.  I was out about twenty dollars, but even worse, my wallet was open.  I pursued these programs, buying new ones as they came out.  After all, once a publisher or distributor of “self-help” programs sells you one, you are then on their mailing list and you begin to receive catalogs describing how good things can be, if you only spend a little more money.  Like most people, I spent a ton of money, but got nowhere.

What Failure Isn’t

As I previously discussed about what success is and is not, I think it is appropriate to have the same discussion about failure, before I move on.  If you are to experience any success in life, then it is almost certain that you will experience setbacks along the way.  In fact, the more success you have, the more “failure” you will encounter before, during and after that success.  Remember this and keep it in front of you continually.  Print it in big letters and keep it in front of you.  Refer to it often.

Never Stop Giving

You may hear other people talking about how giving “doesn’t work.”  You may begin to think these thoughts yourself.

You may even reach a point, where you begin to reason that you don’t have to give so much or that you have been giving long enough and deserve something.  If you allow yourself to adopt that pattern of thinking and begin to ease up on your giving, then all of your previous generosity would have been in vain.  Don’t ever stop planting seeds of generosity and giving.  I know from experience that: “The individual is capable of both great compassion and great indifference.  He has it within his means to nourish the former and outgrow the later.”lxix

The Third Episode

This is my third episode of Renewed2Win. I am still using old audio recordings from my days as a youth pastor. I will probably continue to do that for the remainder of the year as because I am trying to get more blog posts up on the website. Feedback is greatly appreciated as I get this program started. Audio is a problem that, hopefully, I will be able to correct soon. God has been good to me throughout these early days of Renewed2Win. Thanks for your support.

The Need For God

One of our world’s greatest needs is the ability and desire to share God.  In order for you to take hold of all that

generosity has to offer, you must share God with every person you encounter. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.xlvi  I am not talking about pushing your beliefs on others, which will actually have the opposite effect on people than what you should be striving for.  Don’t be pushy!  Simply learn to share by the life you lead.  Share by example!  Live your life in such a way that people see the positive results you achieve.  They will take note of it and that’s when they will begin to ask questions.

Communication and Learning Styles

Let’s thank God for making us all very different and unique.  We all develop different personalities and ways to interact with the world around us.  Could you imagine how boring our world would be if we all responded to the same stimuli in exactly the same way?  There would be no variety or spice to life.  However, having all these differences does make our relationships and our attempts at learning a bit more complicated.  Once explained, people’s communication and learning styles do become much easier to understand, especially with practice.  Before I begin discussing these communication and learning styles, keep in mind that no two people are alike and most people have a blend of more than one style.  Some people may even have a communication style that is different from their learning style.  The three styles are visual, auditory and feeling oriented people.

The Second Episode

This is my second episode of Renewed2Win. My goal is to get better each week until I have a world-class program. Feedback is greatly appreciated as I get this program started. Audio is a problem that, hopefully’, I will be able to correct soon. Thanks for your support.
